Poor Mom's Profits

Since I've been writing more and more on Associated Content, I've been having less and less time to do my other work. Now that AC is getting a bit pickier about what they are accepting and paying good money for (I havne't had any rejected, but payments are going down), I'm concentrating more on my other work.

I did get a nice order on Total-T-Shirt.com last night! This is very good, since I LOVE these t-shirts and really feel strongly about promoting them.

That is a good thing to remember when getting into business for yourself - sell something you believe in!

Organization, as I have said in the past, is the key to getting things done when you are self-employed or run your own business. However, it is a very difficult thing to do with two kids in the house. Not only am I building about five websites, freelance writing, and actively running 2 businesses right now, I also homeschool two kids, one autistic. Is my floor vacuumed? Nope. I'm lucky if I have enough time to brush my hair. Ha ha!

Anyway.... organization is the key. A master daily to-do list will help you out, but don't feel bad if you don't get everything done on it every day. I haven't blacked my whole list out once, but I can see that I am getting things done.

It is also, I think, important to focus on one or two things in a month (or week or whatever) so that something gets done faster. And don't start any new projects until something is completed.

Writing product descriptions for ecommerce stores is tricky. You have to balance the keywords and information with something that sounds enticing. I'm full-steam-ahead on putting in products to www.Total-T-Shirt.com right now and its going well.

Well, Associated Content seems to be back on track. They are catching up with articles very quickly. I am still a little nervous about the rumors of a "new payment model" coming with the page view reporting tool, so I am "making hay while the sun shines."

In other words, I am spending every waking moment writing articles for AC. Okay... not every waking moment, but a lot of them.

My Article Page

It's amazing how much I can get done if I focus on working. Organization is a big thing I'm working on in the new year. Making a to-do list and writing down goals is a great way to achieve what you want. It really works.

Today I am working most on my article directory.

It is created using a free directory script from ArticleTrader.com -- look for articlems information. It is a really easy to use script that can be used for a lot of different things.

Article directories are great for people that want to advertise their websites or business through the use of article distribution. Its one of my favorite ways of marketing. You can read more about it here:

Easy Article Writing Prescription For Success

Why do I have an article directory? Well, at first I just wanted to check out the script and see what I could do with it. Then, I realized that it is kinda cool to own a place where lots of people submit their writing. Also, I use it for my own marketing and Google Adsense profits.

Just came across another place to supposedly get paid for my article writing today.

Article Axis

It is a combo Google Adsense thing where you get paid 50% of the click throughs or something like that. I have so many articles that I figured I might as well stick them on there and make some more.

I have made the plan to finish all the t-shirts on Total-T-Shirt.com before the end of this month. Then it will be marketing time and finishing up on the long sleeves, misses shirts, tank tops, and night shirts. In its last incarnation, my t-shirt business made me a decent profit, and I hope to build it much bigger this time.

Using Google Adsense Channels is Important!

When I first signed up for Google Adsense, I just didn't care about WHERE the clicks were coming from, as long as they came in. Well, I'm hardly making tons of money with Adsense yet, but it is getting better.

The most important thing I have found to do is to use the channels that they let you set up. Right now, I only use them for different URLs. It really helps to track which websites are doing well traffic wise and which aren't.

Of course you should also have a counter or traffic tool on each website. The one I like - and its FREE! - is Statcounter.com It pretty much tells you everything you could want to know about your website's traffic.
